About Me

Hi, I’m Michelle. I set up this website to share more about what I do, share reviews of holidays and hotels from a range of people, provide some inspiration for your next getaway and also share some nifty tips and tricks that will make travelling a breeze! But first a little bit about me…

I’ve been interested in travel and other countries and cultures for as long as I can remember. I actually took Geography at GCSE thinking I’d be learning about people and places… so imagine my disappointment when it was all weather systems and soil erosion! I’ve been lucky enough to be able to travel and go on holiday for most of my life. I’ve been on various beach holidays and explored many European cities, plus I’ve visited New York which is probably my favourite city of all time!

I studied travel and tourism at A-level, and then went to college to complete an HND in travel too. I spent a season working in the Netherlands as a rep on a campsite (Duinrell) which was possibly one of the craziest summers I’ve ever had. Then after I left uni, I started working for Airtours in their call centre. Unfortunately, the call centre closed down, and I ended up going in another direction…until now!

When my son was born, I wanted to work from home so I could spend more time with him, and work around him. I started taking on freelance admin work which was brilliant at the time. Now my son’s started school, it’s the perfect time to get back into travel, working as an independent, home-based travel agent.

The important stuff… I live in Newcastle, I’m a very proud Geordie and Northerner. I’m passionate about supporting my local area, and local businesses. I absolutely love coffee and love a ‘proper coffee’ so you can often find me in one of our local cafes, either working or grabbing a coffee to set me up for the morning.

When I’m not working, I’m usually hanging out with my little dude at the beach when the North East weather allows it or exploring the city centre. We also love baking up a tasty treat and snuggling up for a movie on a rainy afternoon. I also live on the flight path for Newcastle airport so I’ll often be geeking out of my window or on Flightradar as a flight takes off over me…especially when it’s the Emirates 777 going over!

I’m so excited to get back into an industry I’ve loved working in and using myself, and I’ll be documenting my journey here too!  I’m going to be focussing mostly on family-friendly getaways, your beach holidays, family-friendly city breaks and some unique experiences too. If you want some inspiration for your next trip or a quote, just get in touch!
