I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all industry partners, tour operators and fellow agents who have spent all weekend pulling together, and supporting each other. The travel industry is amazing for support from fellow professionals, but it's also one of the industries hit the hardest when these things flare up. Ash clouds, pandemics, earthquakes, wildfires, wars – we've been through them all, and just about survived them all. To know we have a whole network of people behind us to help troubleshoot, solve problems and even just a supportive ear to keep us all going. We don't get into travel because it's an easy 'side hustle', or to make millions. We get into travel because we love the industry. We love discovering the world. We love making travel dreams come true. And because we will stand up and have your back when things go wrong. I also want to make a huge plea to anyone stuck or due to travel. Please be patient with agents and tour operators. Thousands of people are affected and we're all doing our best to get to those people who are currently stuck somewhere or due to travel in the next couple of days. If your holiday is MONTHS away, we can't say at this stage what will happen. You will be contacted nearer the time if travel is not going ahead. If you are worried about your holiday, or want to change your plans, you can do this although at the moment normal cancellation/amendment charges will apply. I know your holidays are important to you and you just want clarity – I'm booked to go to Cyprus and Ras Al Khaimah in the coming months myself so I completely understand the uncertainty.
